Hello there! I’m Donna Talarico, an imaginative writer of creative nonfiction, a blogger and social media junkie merging traditional print media and publications with today’s fast paced world that depends on social networking, viral marketing and new technology to promote creativity.Donna Talarico Paper Girl Memoir

I am pursuing an M.F.A at Wilkes University, where Beverly Donofrio and Becky Bradway were my faculty mentors.

My M.A. and M.F.A thesis was a coming-of-age memoir, PAPERGIRL.  My M.F.A. thesis paper was “Survival in Childhood Memoir: Propelling Story by Building Character.”

With my experience by day in social media, I co-presented a craft class, “Social Media for the Anti-Social Writer” at the Wilkes University creative writing residency in June 2009. I will also be interning at Estruscan Press where I will be spearheading a new social media/digital marketing effort.

By day, I work in in corporate marketing/social media at e-commerce solutions provider Solid Cactus (an Inc. 500 company).  Over the past ten years, I’ve contributed to daily newspapers, alternative weeklies, regional lifestyle quarterlies, college alumni magazines, trade publications, greeting card lines and a national games/word puzzle magazine.

I’ve been a radio station mascot, radio DJ, a radio promotions director, an admissions rep for a career college, a freelancer for a local production crew for PBS television affiliate– and was almost a private investigator.  (Well, sort of– I also was on a short-lived TLC reality show in 2004 called Help Wanted.)

And of course, I was a teenage newspaper salesman!

I have a blog dedicated to the rest of my writing at www.donnatalarico.com
